Between 1970 and 2000, I carried out ethnographic research in Greece. As a professional handweaver, my focus was on spinning, weaving, and fiber processing. Thanks to my wonderful teachers, the men and women of the Peloponnesian and Cretan villages I lived in, I was able to document traditional handcraft processes as they had been carried out for hundreds of years.
